Jumpers

Two-act stage play with coda.  First produced by the National Theatre (dir. Peter Wood, starring Michael Hordern and Diana Rigg) at the Old Vic Theatre, London, on February 2, 1972.  First US production began previews at the Kennedy Center, Washington DC, on February 18, 1974, then transferred to Broadway at the Billy Rose Theatre, NYC (dir. Peter Wood, starring Brian Bedford and Jill Clayburgh) on April 22, 1974. 

Major revivals include productions by the National Theatre at the Lyttelton Theatre (dir. Peter Wood; September 21, 1976, starring Michael Hordern and Julie Covington), the Aldwych Theatre (dir. Peter Wood; extensively revised, April 1, 1985, starring Paul Eddington and Felicity Kendal) and the National Theatre at the Lyttelton Theatre (dir. David Leveaux; June 19, 2003, starring Simon Russell Beale and Essie Davis).  The last production transferred to the Piccadilly Theatre, London in November 2003, and was subsequently mounted on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (April 25, 2004)..
