The Real Thing

Two-act stage play.  First performed at the Strand Theatre, London (dir. Peter Wood) on November 16, 1982.  First US production, with revisions, at the Plymouth Theater, NYC (dir. Mike Nichols) on January 5, 1984.  (An audio recording of this production with a cast including Glenn Close and Jeremy Irons was released on Nonesuch 9-78027.) 

Revived at the Donmar Warehouse, London (dir. David Leveaux) on June 2, 1999, playing a limited engagement at the Albery Theatre starting on January 13, 2000 before transferring to Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, NYC, on April 17, 2000.
